Energy drink maker Red Bull is the poster child for content marketing success – it envisions, ideates, creates, sponsors, partners and sells content in all its glorious forms. Inspire through content is its mission, and fascinate & inspire is the goal. Perhaps their most audacious move to realize that vision was the Red Bull Stratos where Felix Baumgartner broke the world record for the highest freefall jump from space. That 2012 mission to the edge of space broke the speed of sound and was part of the brand’s efforts to transcend human limits. Talk about inspirational.
 
 
"We were not the sponsors; we were the creators, producers, and distributors. We owned that project,” Werner Brell, Managing Director Red Bull Media House, told a rapt audience at the Online Publishers Association Content All Stars event last week.

Launch of a New Newspaper to Promote Luxury Brands

Karl Lagerfeld launches newspaper

 
Designer Karl Lagerfeld is now a media owner. At the end of September, in Europe and China, he is launching, The Karl Daily. It will take a satirical look at Lagerfeld’s love for photography, his love for sketching, and his iconic brand. Starting with a 150,000-copy circulation, Lagerfeld says he loves paper, and truly dislikes social networks:  “Those social networks, there’s something sad about them…It’s like a talkative mirror where people talk to themselves.”

New York Fashion Week Highlights

At Maxus we are all about embracing change and creativity, so what better place for some inspiration than New York Fashion Week, showcasing wears for Spring 2015?! It is winding down and what a fun week of fashion it’s been. I love getting a head start on thinking about ‘what’s next’ for the upcoming season, so this week, I’ve been a student of myriad Instagram pages, Pinterest posts, runway videos, fashion trades, and more. Here’s what I found most interesting:

Models wearing Carolina Hererra’s gowns glided down the runway with such grace. The formal dresses were stunning, adorned with delicate digitized flowers, blending bold and soft colors in the most elegant of ways. For an event I’m attending in November, I’ve had my eye on similar gowns at Neiman Marcus -- more seasonally-appropriate in black and jewel-toned hues and at a more palatable price point.
