My 100-mile Journey through New York City

Over my past six months at Maxus, one of the things I have enjoyed was sharing my passion for running with my co-workers. I even started a Maxus running club in the NYC office as a way to encourage runners of all levels to gather after work. This summer, I embarked on the memorable adventure of running a 100-mile footrace, the Great New York 100 Running Exposition (TGNY 100). I have been an avid marathon runner for many years, and completing this race with the support of my friends and co-workers was a dream come true for me. 
 
I started running marathons when I was 18, and a few years later, I discovered the world of ultramarathons (any foot race longer than the standard 26.2 mile marathon). The most common distances are 50K, 50 miles, and 100 miles—and they can be as long as 135 or 200 miles (I haven’t gotten that far yet)! I found that running gave me focus, kept my mind and body healthy, helped me make great friends, and taught me a lot about goal-setting. These are all things that have helped me in my career at Maxus.
